The Story Behind
Ikigai Cases
Our reason for creating Ikigai Cases was a very personal one. In 2008 our father was diagnosed with CIPD, a rare auto-immune disease that inhibits your movement and can even leave you paralyzed.
In the next years, we watched our father go through every issue imaginable with his pill containers. Breaking, spilling, accidentally opening constantly. Handling a flimsy plastic pill box is already a hassle, and even more so when your hands aren’t working very well due to his disease.
We tried every pill case we could find. Unfortunately, none worked for him.
In 2021, after watching our dad suffer plastic cases for years, we finally had enough. We wanted to give him a pill case that is durable, easy to use, never spills, and looks good on top of it.
That’s how Ikigai Cases was born.

Can I return an engraved case if I don’t like it?
Yes, you can! You can return any case free of charge for 100 days after purchase. Even the engraved ones!
Won’t all the other pills fall out if I flip it over?
Ikigai cases have a unique ball and pocket lid mechanism that prevents this. It locks in place after each compartment so your other pills are always safe.
It also makes them much easier to reach because you don’t have to fiddle the pills out with your finger.
The case was designed for Tavish's Dad who has a neurological condition. It had to be easy to dump one pocket at a time for easy pouring.
Isn’t a metal pill case heavy?
Ikigai cases are built to be extremely durable - but they are also designed to be as sleek and lightweight as possible.
They will always be heavier than a plastic case, but that's kind of the point. They're tough as nails - because something used everyday for years needs to be tougher than what plastic cases provide.
If you’re concerned about weight/size we offer smaller, even more convenient travel cases!
How long until my case arrives after I have placed my order?
Our goal is to ship all orders within 2 business days, even engraved ones.
We are a family business, so this can during peak periods extend another day or two but trust us we are busting our butts to get your orders out asap.
If you need your package by a specific date, please email us and we'll rush the order processing.
Our packages are sent via the United States Post Office with 2-5 Day Shipping.
Expedited shipping orders get same-day processing. The shipping cutoff time is 4:30pm Monday through Friday, and noon on Saturdays.
