The Story Behind
Ikigai Cases
Our reason for creating Ikigai Cases was a very personal one. In 2008 our father was diagnosed with CIDP, a rare neurological disease that inhibits your movement and can even leave you paralyzed.
In the next years, we watched our father go through every issue imaginable with his pill containers. Breaking, spilling, accidentally opening constantly. Handling a flimsy plastic pill box is already a hassle, and even more so when your hands aren’t working very well due to his disease.
We tried every pill case we could find. Unfortunately, none worked for him.
In 2021, after watching our dad suffer plastic cases for years, we finally had enough. We wanted to give him a pill case that is durable, easy to use, never spills, and looks good on top of it.
That’s how Ikigai Cases was born.

If you'd like to send us a photo of your daily routine, we can also guess-timate the size you need using that photo. Just send it to us at tavish@ikigaicases.com.
Lastly, our perfect fit guarantee means you can exchange your case if you do happen to find out the size wasn't quite right. We'll even redo the engravings for you, free of charge. It's just part of our promise to make sure you absolutely love your Ikigai Cases!
Do you offer rush shipping? (Hint: Yes)
Yes. Rush shipping is UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Next Day Air Saver, and rush processing is USPS Priority Mail. Order any of those by NOON EASTERN and it ships the same business day. After noon eastern, it ships the next business day.
Normal orders get engraved and shipped in the order that they came in. Our goal is to ship them within 3 business days.

Yes! Pill organizers are 100% approved by the TSA for air travel as stated on the TSA.gov website, just place your Ikigai Cases inside your toiletry bag.

How does the sliding lid stay closed?
Ikigai Cases use a patented lid design that will never accidentally open or spill in your bag.
A spring loaded ball built into the base pushes up into a divot in the bottom of the lid keeping the lid securely closed.
When you’re ready to open your case, just push down on the traction pad area of the lid and slide the case open.
The lid will click into place at each pocket as it slides open. This makes it super easy to dump single pockets out while holding the case with just one hand.
How are engravings applied to the pill cases?
For Lid Engravings, we use CNC machines to engrave text onto the lids.
For Days of the Week (In Pocket Engravings), we use a fiber laser engraving machine to engrave the lettering inside the pockets.
The engravings are not stickers. They are not painted, sprayed, or laser marked on the cases. All of those ways to put temporary markings on a pill case wear off over time.
The engraving methods we chose are to make the engravings permanent - so they last as long as your case will.
We dealt with the pain of having markings wear off on plastic pill organizers for too many years. There was no way we were going to design our cases that way.

I love this case! When my friend showed me theirs I was originally shocked they spent more than $4 on a pill case…and then I kept thinking about it. Decided to purchase my own and see what the fuss was and I’m so happy with how sturdy it is and also how cool it looks. My meds are protected, and also stylish! It’s definitely a nicer way to stay organized and just so solid. Already looking at the itty bitty ones as a quick overnight take the meds option… :)

Well packaged… arrived with care
This is my third Ikigai case--a Mission Vitamin case in "Desert Rain" color. I also own a Mission Vitamin case in "Gold", and a Weekly Vitamin case in "Black Blue Splatter", both purchased about 2 years ago. The weekly case is generously sized to hold all my pills for up to 2 weeks (two days per compartment), and the mission vitamin case is perfect for weekend trips. They are beautiful cases, and I can find them easily in my suitcase or overnight bag. I never have to worry about them accidentally opening and spilling pills everywhere. Plus they feel wonderful to hold, and are beautiful. I may be stuck taking a bunch of meds for a chronic condition, but at least I no longer have to store them in a ratty plastic pill case! Ikigai cases aren't cheap, but they'll last a lifetime. Treat yourself!
The Mission Vitamin Case is perfect for storing meds and supplements I need to take during the day (12pm and 6pm). I load the case weekly, then pull out daily doses to be added to my Nano Vitamin Case for daily use at work in a high school setting, carrying me through to after school activities. The case quality is amazing! So, I don’t have to worry if it gets dropped or knocked off the counter. Everything stays intact and it fits!

This is my second purchase of these cases because I loved the first one so much the AM p.m. cases are a gift to someone else which I’m sure they will love as well. I’m spreading the love.
So, they kept showing me ads on Facebook and I took the bait and bought a small Mission case. I actually like it a lot more than I thought I would. It’s beautifully made. It’s heavy, but not too heavy. It’s secure. It actually feels expensive (it was) and well made. Like it enough that I returned and bought a MagNano set that I’m still waiting to arrive. The only two things I do not like are — I slid the top off a little too forcefully and my pills went flying across the room. I also don’t love their branding on my pill case, and wish it was just a simple logo or something instead of their name spelled out.

This little pill case is the perfect travel companion for my EDC pack which I carry everywhere. If I ever get stranded or sent on a last-minute mission, I am ready with my Bible, prayer journal, note pad, pens, and a week supply of my three prescriptions. Would you believe..... this is the 7th case I have bought this year! 7th. This all started with one, and I loved it so much I added the Nano, and then one for traveling since I have done a ton of that this year. Then my wife was like "where's mine?" and I ordered her 3 cases on her own. Somehow, I misplaced out of my travel stuff my travel case and I had to order another one, so I really have gotten 7! Great quality and even better customer service The color on this is beautiful, and the fit and finish are very nice — you can tell care went into making it. It’s also just satisfying to fidget with. I did have an issue with my first one becoming difficult to open and close, but customer service replaced it for free, and quickly. That kind of support makes me confident buying from them again. Highly recommend.

My growing Ikigai stable. I love my mission pill cases. The blue one I carry everyday with a back up day’s supply of my meds just in case I get stuck out. The Sky Blue nano pill is in my pocket daily with my mid day dose. I got the Nano vitamin for long days and the Gunmetal Mission Pill to get me thru a weekend. I have to take pills 3x a day and got sick of the plastic weekly cases because they wear down too fast and don't stay shut. I am anxiously awaiting the 3 pocket MagNano when I will finally be able to ditch my plastic weekly cases for good!
Bought this and the nano case for my purse. This one is about 4 times as big as the nano so it’s a pretty big difference in size. I think I prefer the nano case but I haven’t had them long enough to write a good review.

Great size with three separate compartments
Absolutely love the splatter colors, I understand why they're popular! I wanted to use the Mission care for vitamins on short trips, but think some of my pills are too big. And it's a little heavy to throw into my bag for everyday use - which I thought might be the case, as other reviewers mentioned weight. It's heavier than you would think! I probably will use it keep a variety of meds in my desk at work or car - somewhere stationary and where I need a few options. Love that these cases are plastic-free and will hopefully take a few drops, unlike the plastic cases I've used up to now. Thanks, Ikigai!
