The Story Behind
Ikigai Cases
Our reason for creating Ikigai Cases was a very personal one. In 2008 our father was diagnosed with CIDP, a rare neurological disease that inhibits your movement and can even leave you paralyzed.
In the next years, we watched our father go through every issue imaginable with his pill containers. Breaking, spilling, accidentally opening constantly. Handling a flimsy plastic pill box is already a hassle, and even more so when your hands aren’t working very well due to his disease.
We tried every pill case we could find. Unfortunately, none worked for him.
In 2021, after watching our dad suffer plastic cases for years, we finally had enough. We wanted to give him a pill case that is durable, easy to use, never spills, and looks good on top of it.
That’s how Ikigai Cases was born.

I am having trouble finding my size. What size should I get?
Use the Find Your Size page to find the case that works best for you! There are photos of cases filled with different sized pills there so you can estimate what size you need.
If you'd like to send us a photo of your daily routine, we can also guess-timate the size you need using that photo. Just send it to us at tavish@ikigaicases.com.
Lastly, our perfect fit guarantee means you can exchange your case if you do happen to find out the size wasn't quite right. We'll even redo the engravings for you, free of charge. It's just part of our promise to make sure you absolutely love your Ikigai Cases!
Do you offer rush shipping? (Hint: Yes)
Yes! Expedited shipping orders (UPS Next Day Air, UPS 2nd Day Air, etc) get same-day processing. The shipping cutoff time is 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
Normal orders get engraved and shipped in the order that they came in.

Can I put them in my carry-on bag while flying? (Hint: Yes)
Yes! Pill organizers are 100% approved by the TSA for air travel as stated on the TSA.gov website, just place your Ikigai Cases inside your toiletry bag.

How does the sliding lid stay closed?
Ikigai Cases use a patented lid design that will never accidentally open or spill in your bag.
A spring loaded ball built into the base pushes up into a divot in the bottom of the lid keeping the lid securely closed.
When you’re ready to open your case, just push down on the traction pad area of the lid and slide the case open.
The lid will click into place at each pocket as it slides open. This makes it super easy to dump single pockets out while holding the case with just one hand.
How are engravings applied to the pill cases?
For Lid Engravings, we use CNC machines to engrave text onto the lids.
For Days of the Week (In Pocket Engravings), we use a fiber laser engraving machine to engrave the lettering inside the pockets.
The engravings are not stickers. They are not painted, sprayed, or laser marked on the cases. All of those ways to put temporary markings on a pill case wear off over time.
The engraving methods we chose are to make the engravings permanent - so they last as long as your case will.
We dealt with the pain of having markings wear off on plastic pill organizers for too many years. There was no way we were going to design our cases that way.

Do free promotional items need to be returned if I return my order?
If your order included any FREE promotional items, those items must be returned with the rest of the order if you initiate a return.
If a free promotional item is not returned, it will be charged at its full retail price and deducted from your refund.

I have always used a plastic case for my daily medication and supplements. They need to be replaced yearly because of breakage and discoloration. I am now so happy that I invested in the Ikigai Case. It works perfectly as described and will not need to be replaced. It's also easy to clean. It is a little heavier than the plastic cases but that is a small trade off. I'm a fan!

This is an excellent case. Big improvement over the free one from the pharmacy. But now I am pondering some existential questions about economic injustice that allows me to own a $100 pill case to hold my depression pills. Maybe I need more pills to help me forget that question.

Since I loved my initial order from Ikigai Case, the 2-week vitamin case, I decided to order another one, this time the Vitamin XL Case. I absolutely love this new colorway! The materials and construction are still excellent, and it’s been really useful for organizing my daily maintenance meds. I’ll definitely be using it for travel as well. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating throughout our email communication, which made the whole experience even better. Hopefully, we’ll see more crazy and fun color combinations soon!

Can a pill case be cool? I didn’t think so until I invested in my first Ikigai case. This is my second. My girlfriend took over my first and I had to buy this one. I love it even more. The color is beautiful and the quality is amazing. Highly recommend!
I needed a serious UPGRADE for tracking my daily dosages. Something sleek, but sturdy. Something personalized & not rando plastic. Very happy with design & storage capabilities, it makes my day a bit easier. On a lesser note, when I travel, I shall keep my IKIGAI organizer on my nightstand as the sturdy design makes it a perfect shape to clobber any intruders.
At first i was kind of iffy on the case but wanted to give it a shot, i found the case to be a little smaller than expected but it eventually worked out in the end. has 8 slots. i was able to put some miscellaneous pills at the end of the unit that i take sometimes so it worked out great. Construction is good and has a satisfying click. Doesn’t feel cheap and definitely looks better than the plastic stuff
Great and sturdy product. It's the perfect size for the 5-6 vitamins I take in the morning and it's a joy to use it every time. The sliding magnetic mechanism is super smooth and satisfying. Definitely worth the investment!

After realizing that my vintage pill case was probably full of lead (lol), I did a lot of research before making the switch to Ikigai. It was an investment, but this is definitely a BIFL product. The case FEELS expensive--it's sleek, with a matte finish and a good weight to it. It's a little larger than what I had before, but is still easy to carry in a purse or toiletries bag. Big ups to Ikigai for making such a quality case!

I was in desperate need of a new pill case because the one I have was plastic and started to discolor and break. I was tired of buying plastic cases that break easily and don’t hold all of my pills. They routinely open up and all of my pills end up mixed together. This case has completely fixed that. It’s sturdy and I like that it separates so I can leave my morning case by my bed for when I wake up and the night one by my living room where I sit before I go to bed.
Bing as nurse and my own patient, I have looked for 25 years for pill boxes that would last and not spill open on trips, in my messenger bag, etc. I take up to 40 pills and supplements a day in divided doses. I found Ikigai several years ago when they first started. I ordered a 1 three weeks work 2 3case bundles and was hooked, I was thrilled when they came out with the 2XL size cases so now I have a complete set for myself and my husband that covers us for 2 weeks. The construction is top notch, and the customer service and warranty/return policy is unbeatable. Bit of a splurge but I have many years of pills in front of me so well worth it. Satisfying clicks when opening and closing, easy to use and clean, and attractive enough to sit out in plain sight. The Ikigai orange is quite bright but a lovely color. Very happy with my second Ikigai case.

Excellent choice for a pill case! They feel so luxurious and the click they make is very satisfying. They're also extremely sturdy, and can really hold up to some tough treatment inside my suitcase.
I regularly take medications three times a day: morning, noon, and evening. I would love to have a noon case with magnets on both sides to attach to the am and pm cases. I have adapted by getting a 7-day regular case labelled noon (which is larger than the am/pm cases) but would prefer to have a case sized to fit with the am/pm cases. I love using my cases: the labeling doesn't wear off as it does with plastic cases; they travel well (have taken 3 trips with them in the past few months); and have color-coded them for the time of day (red for am; orange gold for noon; and dark blue for evening). They are attractive; and I will never have to replace them as you eventually have to do with plastic cases.
