The Story Behind
Ikigai Cases
Our reason for creating Ikigai Cases was a very personal one. In 2008 our father was diagnosed with CIDP, a rare neurological disease that inhibits your movement and can even leave you paralyzed.
In the next years, we watched our father go through every issue imaginable with his pill containers. Breaking, spilling, accidentally opening constantly. Handling a flimsy plastic pill box is already a hassle, and even more so when your hands aren’t working very well due to his disease.
We tried every pill case we could find. Unfortunately, none worked for him.
In 2021, after watching our dad suffer plastic cases for years, we finally had enough. We wanted to give him a pill case that is durable, easy to use, never spills, and looks good on top of it.
That’s how Ikigai Cases was born.

Use the Find Your Size page to find the case that works best for you! There are photos of cases filled with different sized pills there so you can estimate what size you need.
If you'd like to send us a photo of your daily routine, we can also guess-timate the size you need using that photo. Just send it to us at tavish@ikigaicases.com.
Lastly, our perfect fit guarantee means you can exchange your case if you do happen to find out the size wasn't quite right. We'll even redo the engravings for you, free of charge. It's just part of our promise to make sure you absolutely love your Ikigai Cases!
Do you offer rush shipping? (Hint: Yes)
Yes. Rush shipping is UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Next Day Air Saver, and rush processing is USPS Priority Mail. Order any of those by NOON EASTERN and it ships the same business day. After noon eastern, it ships the next business day.
Normal orders get engraved and shipped in the order that they came in. Our goal is to ship them within 3 business days.

Can I put them in my carry-on bag while flying? (Hint: Yes)
Yes! Pill organizers are 100% approved by the TSA for air travel as stated on the TSA.gov website, just place your Ikigai Cases inside your toiletry bag.

How does the sliding lid stay closed?
Ikigai Cases use a patented lid design that will never accidentally open or spill in your bag.
A spring loaded ball built into the base pushes up into a divot in the bottom of the lid keeping the lid securely closed.
When you’re ready to open your case, just push down on the traction pad area of the lid and slide the case open.
The lid will click into place at each pocket as it slides open. This makes it super easy to dump single pockets out while holding the case with just one hand.
How are engravings applied to the pill cases?
For Lid Engravings, we use CNC machines to engrave text onto the lids.
For Days of the Week (In Pocket Engravings), we use a fiber laser engraving machine to engrave the lettering inside the pockets.
The engravings are not stickers. They are not painted, sprayed, or laser marked on the cases. All of those ways to put temporary markings on a pill case wear off over time.
The engraving methods we chose are to make the engravings permanent - so they last as long as your case will.
We dealt with the pain of having markings wear off on plastic pill organizers for too many years. There was no way we were going to design our cases that way.

Morning, as this is my 2nd set of cases , bc I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎃 them so much ! A needed another bc on a trip that should last a week ? You never know. So I bought another JIC . I'm very pleased with this. I was getting depressed and irritated about the increasing collection of pill bottles on my counter and the frustrating morning ritual of opening each bottle in sequence. While a drugstore pillbox would have solved the second problem, it wouldn't have solved the first, since it would still look like depressing medical equipment. Luckily, the algorithm sent Ikigai advertising to me, and I took a chance. I love solidly-built things and the look of anodized metal, so I just kind of WANTED these anyway, just as cool objects. I am very happy with these. Today was my first day waking up and meeting the fully filled case in the morning. I got my Monday pills out and put the beautiful case back on the counter. Making this medication situation into something pleasant and beautiful makes me happy. Thanks for making a very nice product.

I know this is technically for medication, but I love this case for storing jewelry when traveling. It gives me a safe place to store my earrings and necklaces without them being loose in my bags
I love my AM/PM MagNano set! It’s very easy to fill once a week and take only the days you need while keeping the rest safe. I wish that more colors had been in stock when I ordered mine but I still love it. MagNano fits all 12 of my daily meds with ease.

I love my new pill cases! They are very durable and well-made. The customizable engraving makes taking pills a little more bearable (and dare I say, fun!)
Beautiful, tactile case that evokes a Denis Villeneuve genre film, or perhaps something designed in a galaxy far, far away. (Note that this has a bit more heft compared to the standard aluminum cases, so I think for me this is more of a desk bijou.) From right to left: Nano pill in stainless (smallest); Nano vitamin in titanium (middle); Weekly pill case in Aluminum (largest of the three shown). Stainless is the most reflective and has a subtly striated look to the finish (they all feel quite smooth). Titanium looks brushed and matte; aluminum has a satiny look to it compared to the other two.
I was curious what a titanium Ikigai case would be like, and was delighted to see how it turned out! It has a very subtle, minimalist feel - a brushed, almost soft finish. (In the vid, titanium is the center case - Nano Vitamin - compared to the larger Weekly Pill case in Aluminum, on the left, and the smaller Nano Pill case in stainless on the right.) I love the sort of mottled surface: it reminds me of raku pottery or a tumbled pebble on the beach. Do note that it's slightly denser than the standard aluminum that Ikigai uses for most of its cases (stainless is the heftiest of the three materials). I could totally see this as part of a designer's EDC - a modern-day netsuke or high-end fidget. Think leathered granite or polished driftwood.

It's perfect. My last ones were smaller and with larger vitamins and supplement sizes I couldn't fit them and thus often wouldn't take my supplements. Now it is no problem!
