The Story Behind
Ikigai Cases
Our reason for creating Ikigai Cases was a very personal one. In 2008 our father was diagnosed with CIDP, a rare neurological disease that inhibits your movement and can even leave you paralyzed.
In the next years, we watched our father go through every issue imaginable with his pill containers. Breaking, spilling, accidentally opening constantly. Handling a flimsy plastic pill box is already a hassle, and even more so when your hands aren’t working very well due to his disease.
We tried every pill case we could find. Unfortunately, none worked for him.
In 2021, after watching our dad suffer plastic cases for years, we finally had enough. We wanted to give him a pill case that is durable, easy to use, never spills, and looks good on top of it.
That’s how Ikigai Cases was born.

I am having trouble finding my size. What size should I get?
Use the Find Your Size page to find the case that works best for you! There are photos of cases filled with different sized pills there so you can estimate what size you need.
If you'd like to send us a photo of your daily routine, we can also guess-timate the size you need using that photo. Just send it to us at tavish@ikigaicases.com.
Lastly, our perfect fit guarantee means you can exchange your case if you do happen to find out the size wasn't quite right. We'll even redo the engravings for you, free of charge. It's just part of our promise to make sure you absolutely love your Ikigai Cases!
Do you offer rush shipping? (Hint: Yes)
Yes. Rush shipping is UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Next Day Air Saver, and rush processing is USPS Priority Mail. Order any of those by NOON EASTERN and it ships the same business day. After noon eastern, it ships the next business day.
Normal orders get engraved and shipped in the order that they came in. Our goal is to ship them within 3 business days.

Can I put them in my carry-on bag while flying? (Hint: Yes)
Yes! Pill organizers are 100% approved by the TSA for air travel as stated on the TSA.gov website, just place your Ikigai Cases inside your toiletry bag.

How does the sliding lid stay closed?
Ikigai Cases use a patented lid design that will never accidentally open or spill in your bag.
A spring loaded ball built into the base pushes up into a divot in the bottom of the lid keeping the lid securely closed.
When you’re ready to open your case, just push down on the traction pad area of the lid and slide the case open.
The lid will click into place at each pocket as it slides open. This makes it super easy to dump single pockets out while holding the case with just one hand.
How are engravings applied to the pill cases?
For Lid Engravings, we use CNC machines to engrave text onto the lids.
For Days of the Week (In Pocket Engravings), we use a fiber laser engraving machine to engrave the lettering inside the pockets.
The engravings are not stickers. They are not painted, sprayed, or laser marked on the cases. All of those ways to put temporary markings on a pill case wear off over time.
The engraving methods we chose are to make the engravings permanent - so they last as long as your case will.
We dealt with the pain of having markings wear off on plastic pill organizers for too many years. There was no way we were going to design our cases that way.

I’m getting a puppy in three weeks and I got a small pill case to make she can’t get her way into and I’m getting a second one so when she gets bigger she won’t be able to get into my evening meds either. These pill cases are awesome, and I can’t imagine a puppy or small dog will be able to get into them. Aside from their excellent construction, I can’t imagine a Mimi Velociraptor will be able to chew her way into either of them. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
Works great paired with the weekly vitamin case. Dump into the Nano for days I’ll be out of the house. Unfortunately, the vitamin size was much bulkier than I imagined (and more space than needed). The 100 day perfect fit guarantee made it easy to swap for the smaller Nano Pill size. The nano size (not pictured) is still a bit thick, but much more portable and just as pleasurably fidgety!
Finally, a good travel medication solution
I had my eyes on these products for a while. When I saw the MagNano customized daily boxes with AM/PM options, I decided it was time to take the leap. The price was a tough pill to swallow (pun intended), but the quality of the product made me realize it is a “buy once/cry once” type of purchase. The decision for AM/PM is for longer trips where I can have two weeks of meds segmented (right now I only take pills in the morning). I can also decide to break off the boxes for shorter trips and minimize the carry away (i.e. sun-tues boxes for six days). The boxes are sturdy and well built. With that comes weight, which is the only negative thing I have to say about it. But honestly, I’d rather have something I know will last rather than the cheap plastic pill boxes I’ve used in the past. I’m using it daily because I needed to justify the cost. It’s worked out really well. The magnets are strong, so my suggestion is to “bend” to separate instead of pulling apart. One time I pulled apart and the force made some of the individual boxes fly out of my hand and on to my hardwood floor. But, as a testimony to the quality, the pills stayed in tact and there was no damage to the boxes. You’ve got a loyal customer, Ikigai. Great product!
Perfect for travel
The dark blue is absolutely gorgeous. And **** **** is it fun to open and close. Not just the feel but the sound. 😌 I think I overestimated how much space I’d need though. I’m debating if I should have gone with the pill case size instead of the vitamin case size. Luckily their 100 day exchange window (even for used items) makes this very easy. And shoutout to Chris on the customer service team. It’s nice when a CSR knows the products and can provide detailed responses to specific questions instead of generic ones.
This thing is a vitamin TARDIS. 😂 I have it absolutely STUFFED and somehow everything fits. It’s substantial, beautifully made, and the color genuinely makes me happy every time I open it. After years of flimsy plastic organizers, this feels like the last vitamin case I’ll ever need to buy. Frankly, I’m pretty sure it’s going to outlive me— I’m sure my family are going to fight over this!
My pills have better accommodations than most people. 😂 Heavy-duty, gorgeous, and no more pills launching across the room when I try to close a cheap plastic organizer. The color is absolutely me, and I loved it so much I bought the Vitamins case too. Ridiculously pleased with this thing.

Love it the pill case is very nice looking and works great very good quality I can’t decide if I like the desert rain better or cherry blossom so I got both
I like the simple design and how easy it is to keep my vitamins organized for the week. The case is compact, feels very solid, and seems much more durable than the typical plastic pill organizers I’ve used before. The materials and construction give it a sturdy, premium feel, so I don’t feel like I have to baby it when carrying it around. It’s also convenient being able to prepare everything ahead of time instead of opening multiple bottles every day. Overall, it does exactly what I wanted it to do, feels like it should hold up well over time, and looks much nicer than a standard pill organizer.

This is the xl weekly vitamin case in desert rain. I love this pill case. I was so tired of how gross my plastic pill cases were getting. I love that this can be washed easily when it needs it. Its very durable and heavy duty. I've gotten one for my mom who has severe arthritis in her hands and its a great help to her because opening and closing pill bottles is super difficult. And a bonus - the Ikigai team are such kind people. Definitely would recommend!
I love the new magnetic daily cases. The one thing I would change for the next version is to allow the cover on the case to slide in both directions. That way you could get to AM or PM more conveniently in case you need PM you won't have to empty the AM.
